Plastic Use Education Program and IEC Campaign Launched in Brgy. Macambol

A Plastic Use Education Program and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign was successfully launched on December 26, 2024, in Catmonan, Barangay Macambol, through a partnership among Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), DARRPORT, and Hallmark Mining Corporation.

The activity aimed to strengthen environmental awareness and promote responsible plastic use and waste management practices within the community. The program’s launching featured a coastal cleanup activity involving local children, who actively collected plastic waste and marine debris, fostering environmental responsibility at a young age.

To recognize their participation and encourage continued stewardship, the children were provided with essential school supplies and grocery items. The initiative highlights the importance of education and community collaboration in building sustainable environmental practices.

Through this IEC campaign, Hallmark Mining Corporation reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection, education, and community engagement in its host communities.
